The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department is located in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and is bordered by Maryland, Virginia, and Berkeley County , West Virginia. We currently serve approximately 43,000 citizens and are responsible for the welfare and safety of these citizens within a 212 square mile area. We are a full service law enforcement organization which is charged with all types of police services, protection and security of our courts, transport of prisoners and mental hygiene patients and the service of civil process'.
